outdoor activities at Woodbine

With stunning land and seascapes and rich heritage, Skye is a must-visit destination.  It was recently voted the "4th best island in the world" by National Geographic magazine.

Follow the links to the left for more information on our fantastic boat trips, mountain bike hire, walking in the area and ideas for wet weather activities.

At Woodbine House we also offer accommodation and activity packages.  You can pick from boat trips, waterskiing, fishing trips, mountain bike hire, sea kayaking, archery and walking (guided or self-guided.)

Boat trips: Whale-watching, seals, puffins, sea-eagles and spectacular scenery - don't leave Skye without experiencing a trip on SkyeXplorer.

Mountain biking: From extreme off road adventures to stunning road routes, the Trotternish peninsula has it!

WalkingFrom gentle local woodland and waterfall walks to strenuous full day hikes, Skye has the walks for you. We have guide books that you can borrow and we are happy to recommend walks to you.  Guided walks are also available.

Waterskiing:  Enjoy a 30 minute water-skiing session in Uig bay.

Fishing trips:  Charter SkyeXplorer for a fishing trip.  Between our fishfinder and local knowledge we'll get you to the right spots.  In the summer months there are plenty of mackerel, pollock and ling.

Archery:  Enjoy an archery session with Andi as instructor and see if you can beat your friends.

Kayaking: Novice paddler or expert, our stable and comfortable sea kayak lets you get close to wildlife. Uig bay is a perfect place to go for a safe and enjoyable paddle, exploring the local wildlife (including the local harbour seal and resident otter).  We offer self-guided trips (all safety gear included) as part of our activity packages or if you are looking for a session with an instructor we can book you with the local kayaking outdoor centre: www.white-wave.co.uk
